Turning your dreams into reality begins with a clear vision, and for me, Salt & Acres was that vision—a place where we could always welcome more people to our table. Driven by our love for hospitality and a desire to create something unique, we’ve learned to trust God’s whispers to keep dreaming bigger. Here are a few steps that have guided our path, and may help you on your journey to create beauty in the world and live as the salt of the earth:
Define Your Vision: Reflect on what beauty and your dream look like. For us, it started as a vision to create a place that felt magical, where people could experience the warmth and joy we hold dear. Whether through art, service, or community, clarify your passion and let that shape the impact you want to make.
Start Small: Take the first step, no matter how small. We didn’t have a background in food or hospitality, but we knew how to welcome people like family, and that authenticity became the heart of Salt & Acres. Begin with what you have, where you are. And remember—no one has it all figured out, but the ones who succeed are those who keep going. Don’t give yourself an option to quit.
Embrace Challenges: Salt & Acres has been one challenge after another, but every time things seemed impossible, God reminded us that this dream was bigger than we imagined. Obstacles are part of the process, and through them, you’ll learn, grow, and deepen your faith. Each hurdle becomes part of your story and strengthens you.
Seek Support: Surround yourself with people who share your values and lift you up. Collaboration has been key for us—working together with others, we’ve been able to create more than we ever could alone. Celebrate others’ strengths as much as your own.
Celebrate Progress: Progress may come slowly, but every small win is worth celebrating. For us, it’s in the laughter shared at our Tasting Room, the posts from people who love what we’re building, and the overwhelming gratitude we feel at every concert. And of course, we celebrate with food and wine—because that’s what we do!
Stay Grounded: Salt & Acres has taught us that in the midst of financial risks and stress, what truly matters is faith, family, and finding joy in the small things. The material stuff fades, but the love and connection we share are what keep us grounded and humble.
