Introducing… Homeschool Plan Version No. 1 (of what I’m sure will be 365 🤣)
If there’s one thing I’ve learned already… it’s that homeschooling is equal parts excitement, prayer, research, and realizing you’ll probably change your mind at least once a week. 😂
So here’s where we’re starting!
My goal isn’t perfection. My goal is to help Deacon love learning, stay curious, build strong character, and create a homeschool experience that works for our family.
We’re following a lot of what he was already learning while adding in some things that align with our family’s values and the way he learns best.
📚 Our Core Curriculum
➕ Math
- Math in Focus Homeschool Kit – Grade 5 (2020 Edition)
✏️ Language Arts
- The Good and the Beautiful – Full 5th Grade Language Arts

But if you know me… you know this is only part of the plan.
We’re also making room for:
Life skills
Gardening – spending time with Auntie at Prosper Fields too…
Reading together
Movement
Hands-on science
Creativity
Field trips
Cooking
Real conversations about faith, character, and serving others
I have absolutely no idea if this will still be “Version No. 1” by next month… but that’s part of the adventure.
I’m learning right alongside him, and I have a feeling this journey is going to teach me just as much as it teaches Deacon.
So here’s to Version No. 1.
Let’s see where God takes us. ❤️
