One of my favorite additions to our homeschool routine has been studying the Bible together.
For fifth grade, we’re using Possessing the Land by Positive Action for Christ, and I have absolutely loved it! The lessons are easy to follow, guide us through Scripture and include questions that encourage both comprehension and deeper contemplation.
Bible time has become so much more than another subject on our schedule. I’m learning alongside Deacon, and it gives us the opportunity to have meaningful conversations about faith, character and how God’s Word applies to our everyday lives.
Whether you homeschool or your children attend public school, Bible study can be added to your family’s routine in a simple way:
• Work through a lesson before school or after dinner
• Read a short passage together
• Listen to an age-appropriate Bible lesson in the car
• Ask what your child learned—and what they think it means
• Choose one verse to reflect on throughout the week
You don’t have to know every answer or create the perfect plan. Simply opening the Bible and learning together is a beautiful place to begin.
If you’re looking for a great Bible YouTube channel, we have really enjoyed Ear to Hear. It’s a wonderful resource for learning more about biblical history and adding context to what we’re studying.
The greatest gift has been creating space for conversations that may not have happened otherwise—and growing in our faith together. 🤍
