Preparing Our Hearts for the New Year!
Looking back, I had no idea how much this journey would prepare Justin and me in ways we couldn’t have anticipated when we took that leap of faith years ago. If you’d asked me back in 2021 whether we were prepared for this adventure, I would’ve said confidently, “Yes!” We believed our years of experience, resilience, and willingness to put everything into this dream would be enough. And in many ways, they were—we were fueled by passion, hard work, and a determination to make Salt & Acres a reality.
But these past years have brought challenges we never expected: sleepless nights, financial stress, and moments where all we could do was trust God to carry us through. We’ve had to lean on a faith that goes beyond words, holding tight to the belief that God is the only one who can make this dream happen. Those moments of uncertainty and dependence have shaped us deeply, stripping away anything non-essential.
I often think of how a canyon is carved by a rushing river, chipping away everything that isn’t vital. Eventually, you’re left with a landscape that’s both strong and open—a balance of structure and flow. That’s what this journey has done for us. It’s shown me what’s truly worth holding onto, and, more importantly, how to let go and trust.
This year, as we look ahead, I feel like I’m finally ready to release those lingering doubts, and step into 2025 with a renewed faith and confidence.
Every year, I choose a word to set my intentions. In 2023, it was Salt—symbolizing the essence of what we wanted to build. In 2024, it was Faith, believing that God brought us here and would handle the details we couldn’t. Now, my word for 2025 is Confidence.
I’ve struggled with self-doubt, wondering if what we’re creating is enough or if people will even want to come out and see it. But here’s the truth I’ve learned: we have to believe in what we’re doing before anyone else can. Confidence is a foundation for everything we hope to build in this coming year, and I trust that God will show me just what that word will mean as we walk through 2025.
If there’s one message I want to share as we step into this new year, it’s this: stop letting the world tell you who you are. You were created for this moment, this place, and this purpose.
Let 2025 be the year you step into what you’re meant to do with courage and conviction.
Cheers!
